Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex · Gesture · Mixed Reality

At Kennedy Space Center, Exhibitry’s TouchFree 3D lets visitors explore spacecraft in three dimensions with a wave of the hand.

A hand raised toward the display becomes a cursor. Move it, and the model turns; hold it, and a detail opens. Children reach it as easily as adults, and the interface asks nothing of them beyond curiosity.

Gesture control carries the hygiene of a hands-off exhibit and the drama of a hands-on one, and it survives a visitor-complex crowd because there is nothing to wear, hold or wipe down.

The same TouchFree engine drives HoloTube holograms, HoloStory and the Zero-Gravity Glove Game a few steps away.

Why it mattered

Exhibitor Magazine called TouchFree gesture-recognition technology with a sleek, contemporary design that will add a futuristic element to any interactive display.
